Gold Canyon Case Study
THE CLIENT RAVES:
“THANK YOU!!! Hot On Broadway was such a delight to work with. Your entire group was fun, encouraging, and very patient in choreographing our co-founders right into your production!”
Client: Merestone for Gold Canyon International
Show: Annual Demonstrators Convention
Location: Phoenix Symphony Hall, Phoenix, AZ
Initiative: Reward Gold Canyon's top product demonstrators with an entertaining event that harkens back to Happy Days and American Graffiti. Client's directive was to incorporate the two CEO founders of Gold Canyon into the production. Their request was for a real challenge - to be taught the full Broadway choreography - not simply one step that can be made easy for them.
Solution: Working with a team of Broadway directors and choreographers, we designed a program of fun rock and roll hits, including songs from the era of Jersey Boys and Grease. Gold Canyon's founders were revealed right before our finale of "You're The One That I Want." We developed and rehearsed the dance steps in a New York City rehearsal studio with the founders and also videotaped the routine so that they could review the moves on their own. Our cast of 10 Broadway performers were outfitted in appropriately bright and fun costumes, to reflect the "soda fountain" theme of the event. On-site there was very little tech time. We reviewed the staging with everyone, as well as designed eye-catching lighting effects and some gymnastic tricks to really thrill the audience.
Results: 1,200 screaming fans can't be wrong! Starting with a high-energy medley of "Rock Around The Clock" and "At The Hop," our performers met an audience that was screaming and applauding like no other. At the finale, when the founders were revealed, dressed as Danny and Sandy from Grease and dancing the same steps as our cast, the audience went crazy with a rafter-shaking cheer! Gold Canyon was thrilled with the production, saying, "All of our demonstrators loved the performance. Thanks again for making our convention such a success and being so wonderful!"
